Instructions

 

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add dry mixture to wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
