Instructions

- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add dry mixture to wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
- Scoop and Bake: Drop dough onto prepared sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
- Cool and Enjoy: Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
