Ingredients
- Sourdough Bread
- Mayonnaise
- Dijon Mustard
- Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Gruyère or Raclette Cheese
- Butter
Instructions
- Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Place one slice of bread, mayo-side-down, in a hot skillet.
- Add a generous amount of sharp cheddar cheese and Gruyère or raclette on top.
- Top with the second slice of bread, mayo-side-up.
- Cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
- Flip the sandwich carefully and cook the other side until golden and cheese is melted.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Experiment with different types of bread like whole wheat, sourdough, or brioche for different textures and flavors.
- For added flavor, try mixing cheeses, adding vegetables like tomatoes or spinach, or seasoning with garlic powder or paprika.
- For a lighter option, use olive oil instead of butter for grilling.
- If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in a skillet or oven to retain crispiness.
