Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tsp culinary matcha powder (use ceremonial or premium grade if possible)
- 1 tbsp dried culinary lavender (make sure it’s food-grade)
- 1/4 cup water (for lavender syrup and matcha paste)
- 3/4 cup milk of choice (whole, almond, oat, soy—it’s your call)
- 1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- A few drops vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring 1/4 cup of water and the lavender to a gentle simmer. Let it steep off the heat for about 5–10 minutes. Strain out the lavender buds and stir in your sweetener. Set aside.
- In a small bowl or cup, sift in your matcha powder. Add a tablespoon of warm water and whisk vigorously until smooth. A milk frother or small whisk works too.
- Gently heat your milk in a saucepan or microwave. Froth it using a handheld frother, blender, or by shaking it in a mason jar.
- In your favorite mug, pour in the lavender syrup, then the matcha paste. Stir gently to combine. Top with your warm frothed milk. Sip and enjoy.
Notes
Start light with lavender—too much can overpower. Use filtered water for clearer flavors. Want it iced? Cool everything and pour over ice. Extra lavender syrup is amazing in lemonade or over ice cream.
