Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix in vegetable oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring until smooth without overmixing.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. To make the frosting, beat the butter until creamy, then mix in powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract, beating until fluffy.
