Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium-sized fresh mangoes
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp chili powder (or cayenne pepper)
- 2 tbsp honey (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Peel and chop the mangoes: Peel the mangoes, remove the pit, and chop them into small chunks.
- Blend the ingredients: Place the chopped mangoes in a blender or food processor with the water, lime juice, and sugar. Blend until smooth.
- Add chili powder: Add the chili powder (or cayenne) to the mixture. Taste and adjust the heat by adding more chili if needed.
- Freeze: Pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container, cover, and freeze for at least 4 hours, scraping every hour to keep the texture smooth.
- Serve: Scoop the sorbet and serve immediately, or store it in the freezer until ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Use ripe mangoes for the best flavor and sweetness.
- For a firmer sorbet, freeze for 6-8 hours.
- Adjust the chili powder to your preferred spice level.
- Optional: Add honey for extra sweetness or skip it for a more natural flavor.
