- 3–4 pounds of white beef fat or suet
Instructions
- Cut the beef fat into small, even pieces.
- Place the fat in a heavy pot or slow cooker and heat on low.
- Simmer gently for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Strain the liquid through a fine mesh or cheesecloth.
- Pour the tallow into jars and let it cool completely before sealing.
Notes
Use grass-fed beef fat for the best quality. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place.
